These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Place Insight ("the Service"), operated by Impera Analytics ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Place Insight is a data analytics and visualisation platform providing access to place-level data, indices, benchmarks, and spatial analysis tools covering areas across England. The Service includes modules such as the PlaceInsight Index, Council Performance, Housing Market Dynamics, and Data Repositories.

The platform is intended for professional and research use by individuals including urban planners, policy analysts, local authority staff, housing professionals, and researchers.

2. Accounts and Access

To use Place Insight, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Subscriptions and Payment

Access to Place Insight requires a paid subscription. Subscription fees are charged in advance on a recurring basis. All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method through Stripe.

Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Place Insight only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Reproduce, redistribute, or resell any data or content from the platform without our written permission
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the platform
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the Service to engage in any unlawful or fraudulent activity

5. Intellectual Property

All content on Place Insight, including the PlaceInsight Index, calculated indicators, platform design, and software, is the intellectual property of Impera Analytics or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the Service or its content.

Some underlying data used in our indices is sourced from public bodies and government datasets. Where applicable, attribution and licencing conditions for source data are documented within the platform's Data Repositories module.

6. Data Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the data presented on Place Insight. However, all data, indices, and analysis are provided for informational and research purposes only. We do not warrant that the information is complete, accurate, or suitable for any specific purpose.

You should not rely solely on Place Insight data when making significant decisions, including but not limited to investment decisions, planning applications, or policy decisions, without independent verification.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Impera Analytics shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of Place Insight, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep Place Insight available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or restrict access for maintenance, security reasons, or circumstances beyond our control. We will give reasonable notice where possible.

9. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us at support@placeinsight.co.uk.

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or harmful conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends immediately.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice within the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Place Insight shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
